Printing a Strava map is not a screenshot. Strava's share image is a few hundred pixels wide and does not survive a wall. What you print instead is the route itself, the coordinates the activity is made of, drawn again at print size. That takes about five minutes, and here is exactly what happens.
1. Get the route
Two ways, both free on Strava's side and on any plan:
- Connect Strava in the editor. It reads the activities on your account, you pick one, and the route and the numbers come in. Nothing is posted and nothing is changed; the connection expires by itself.
- Export it yourself: on strava.com, open the activity, the more menu (three dots), Export GPX. Drop the file in the editor. The export guide covers it, and the phone workaround if you are on the app.
You do not need a Strava account at all if you have the file from your watch: Garmin, Wahoo, Coros, Suunto and Apple Watch all give you one.
2. Watch it draw
The route appears on a sheet in your browser. From here you choose:
- Map or line. Seven map styles from a pale paper map to terrain and a night map, or no map and the line alone.
- Size. 30×40, 50×70 or 70×100 cm.
- Colour and weight of the line, and where the text sits.
- The numbers. Distance, time, pace or speed, elevation, heart rate and power if the file has them, the date. Tick the ones you want.
- A title and a subtitle.
The print updates as you change things, and what you see is what we print. The first and last 500 metres are trimmed automatically so the route does not start at your front door; you can push that out, not turn it off.
3. Order
Loose print or framed, then the checkout. Printed to order in two to four working days and shipped in Denmark and the EU. From 319 kr for a route print, from 799 kr framed.
Things people ask before they do it
Several routes on one print? Yes. Bring more than one activity and the sheet becomes a heatmap or a coverage print. A whole year works.
Someone else's route, as a gift? Yes, with their file. They export it in a minute, or a public activity on Strava has a download button on its page that gives you the route.
Preview before paying? The whole thing is the preview. There is no order until you have seen the print.
Miles? The print shows kilometres. If miles matter to you, leave the distance off and put it in the title.
Do you sell frames separately? No. The framed print is the sheet already in a solid wood frame, white, black, wood or dark wood, ready to hang.
